Shilajit
BACKGROUND:
Shilajit ("Conqueror of mountains, Conqueror of the Rocks, Destroyer of Weakness") is a blackish-brown powder or an exudate from high mountain rocks.
The organic content Shilajit is composed of 60% to 80% humic substances such as humic and fulvic acids, the mineral content is 15-20% along with trace elements including selenium. Therefore, Shilajit is rich in nutrients such as mineral salts, amino acids, etc., and other organic components.
ORIGIN:
Shilajit comes from millions of years of geothermal pressure acting on biomasses of plant materials and minerals. This natural process produces a tar-like pitch that glistens in the rocks in the Himalayan region during hot weather. The rocks in various locations are different colours and determine the grade. Our Shilajit is sourced from Leh region (J&K, India) of the Himalayas.
MEDICAL BENEFITS:
- Alzheimer’s disease- The fulvic acid in Shilajit may stop the abnormal build-up of tau protein and reduce inflammation, potentially improving Alzheimer’s symptoms.
- Low testosterone level- Purified Shilajitsignificantly Increases testosterone level in blood.
- Chronic fatigue syndrome- Shilajit improves the energy level of the body.
- Aging- Regular use of Shilajit may contribute to longevity, a slower aging process, and overall better health.
- Iron deficiency anaemia- Shilajit supplement, may gradually increase iron levels.
- Infertility- Regular use of Shilajit leads to an increase in total sperm count and increase in sperm motality. the ability of the sperm in a sample to move adequately, an important part of fertility.
- Heart health- Shilajit as a dietary supplement may also improve heart health.

Summary- Shilajit is a potent and very safe dietary supplement, potentially able to prevent several diseases, but its main medical application now appears to come from its actions in benefit of cognition and potentially as a dietary supplement to prevent Alzheimer’s disease. - Article 2- Publication in NIH (National Institute of Health), US “The effects of Shilajit supplementation on fatigue-induced decreases in muscular strength and serum hydroxyproline levels” Link: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6364418/pdf/12970_2019_Article_270.pdf
Summary-…8 weeks of Shilajit supplementation at 500 mg promoted the retention of maximal muscular strength following the fatiguing protocol and decreased baseline hydroxyproline (HYP). Thus, Shilajit supplementation at 500 mg elicited favourable muscle and connective tissue adaptations. - • Article 3- Publication in NIH (National Institute of Health), US “Complement-fixing Activity of Fulvic Acid from Shilajit and Other Natural Sources” Link: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2650748/pdf/nihms54108.pdf
Summary- The primary organic substance in aqueous extracts of Shilajit humus is fulvic acid (FA), and it has been suggested that FA may account for many biological and medicinal properties of Shalajit. Indeed, FA has been used externally to treat hematoma, phlebitis, desmorrhexis, myogelosis, arthrosis, polyarthritis, osteoarthritis, and osteochondrosis. Likewise, FA has been taken orally as a therapy for gastritis, diarrhoea, stomach ulcers, dysentery, colitis, and diabetes mellitus.
…..humic substances can stimulate osteoclastic resorption of transplanted bones as well as hydroxyapatite, and FA/humic substances isolated from soil and water reservoirs have been reported to stimulate neutrophil and lymphocyte immune function.
